Having starting piano at the age of four, and guitar while in middle school, music has always been a large part of my life. I majored in music at Harper Rainey College and Northern Illinois University, graduating with a Bachelor of Music degree.

I started my teaching career while I was in High School and continued through college. After marrying, my husband and I lived overseas for a number of years. I stayed active in teaching and performing.
I have been teaching in Gwinnett County since 2004 and am active in the Gwinnett County Music Teachers Association, the Georgia Music Teachers Association, the Music Teachers National Association, and the National Federation of Music Clubs.

In 2008 I was invited to perform in an alumni recital at Harper College. My duet partner and I performed a duet recital series in 2009, with the final performance given at North Georgia College and State University. In 2012 we performed a duet recital at PianoWorks and presented a lecture/recital for the North Fulton and Gwinnett County Music Teachers Associations and at the state conference for the Georgia Music Teachers. My duet partner and I presented a lecture/recital to the Gwinnett County Music Teachers Association in February 2020 and presented a program that same year to the Georgia Music Teachers Association.
For some years now, I have attended an adult piano workshop in Vermont where I perform solo and duet material.
